Three point lighting uses three different lights named the key light, fill light, and back light. If you just have the one light then this specific light will become the key. If you only have two lights, one will be the key and the second will be either the fill or the back light.
Key Light
This would always be the main light. It's typically the strongest light and has the most effect on the look of the scene. It's placed to one specific side of the camera so it is well lit and the less prominent side of the shot has more shadows.
Fill Light
This would be the secondary light and is placed on the opposite side of the key light. This light is used to cover shadows from the Key Light. A fill light is typically weaker and less bright than the key, in order to accomplish this, you could reposition the light.
Back Light
A Back Light is positioned to the rear of the subject and lights it from behind. Instead of providing direct light it is to accumulate definition and subtle highlights around the subject's borders. This will then differentiate the subject in the distance. It also provides a look in three dimensions.

Photoshop Tutorial
I watched this video on YouTube centred around a tutorial on Photoshop. This was quite beneficial for me in the early weeks of the year and through out each week.

15 Photo Evaluation
Our story idea for the 15 photo evaluation we decided to centre our story on someone visiting a house were the residents have passed away and the house's ghostly remains still linger. To do this we used a variety of shots and Photoshop tools and inserted various metaphors surrounding our idea. We introduce the story early with a shot of the neighbourhood in it's prior state through an old photograph in front of the current street of today. This sets up a theme we decided on throughout of decay and the past coming back to haunt you.
The early photos all mirror this idea with having various photographs in the front of the remains of the house. Implying were these events have taken place are now filled with hollowness and emptiness. Several of the images are blurred to imply more of a ghostly, unearthly quality which we achieved using Photoshop. We wanted the images to be more surreal, with an ambiguous quality to the story hence the reason no one appears physically in the shots as it could be seen from a ghosts point of view.
We also wanted a lot of the room shots to feel empty and hollow, decaying and destroyed, showcasing the empty quality to the house. We also had some of the images in black and white to create a darker quality to the images that was scarier and more visually interesting compared to the original quality of the images. We also inserted shots to imply what the former residents interests would be, inserting a camera and paint brush's into the shot, to imply an artistic quality to the residents interests.
We also obscured the visible light in many of the shots, to darken the mood. We wanted the story to get darker as it went on, this there are no pictures of the happier past in the shots as it was a reminder of the tragic element. I feel if we were to do this again however I would like to do something a little less surreal. and perhaps easier to follow and less ambiguous. But I felt like the group worked well together and created something interesting.
